IGBT temperature (hardware)
Vacon · 100 FLOW Application Guide
What does 31 mean?
The IGBT Inverter Bridge hardware overtemperature protection has detected an excessively high short-term overload current. This typically occurs under heavy transient loads or with incorrect motor sizing.
Common Causes
- Internal hardware fault detected in the IGBT temperature sensor or circuit.
- Overheating of the IGBT module detected by dedicated hardware monitoring.
- Faulty IGBT module reporting incorrect temperature.
- Wiring issue to the hardware temperature sensor.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Check the motor loading and ensure it is within the frequency converter's capabilities.
- 2
Verify that the motor size is appropriate for the frequency converter's rating.
