82

Open output

SEW Eurodrive · MCBSM

What does 82 mean?

Immediate switch-off with inhibit, specifically in "VFC hoist" operating mode. Two or all output phases to the motor are interrupted, or the rated motor power is too small for the inverter. This prevents proper motor operation and can cause severe damage to the inverter's output stage.

Common Causes

  • Output circuit has an open connection.
  • External wiring to the output device is disconnected.
  • The connected load has failed open.
  • Internal output stage failure.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check the physical connection between the inverter and the motor, ensuring all three output phases are connected and secure.

  2. 2

Check startup data and perform a new startup if necessary, verifying the rated motor power setting against the actual motor.

  3. 3

Inspect the motor cable for any breaks, damage, or loose connections along its entire length.
