81

Start condition

SEW Eurodrive · MCBSM

What does 81 mean?

Immediate switch-off with inhibit, specifically in "VFC hoist" operating mode. The motor could not be supplied with the correct current during pre-magnetizing time, possibly due to rated motor power being too small for the inverter or undersized motor cables. This prevents proper motor startup and can stress the inverter.

Common Causes

  • The drive cannot enter a run state due to unmet conditions.
  • Safety interlock circuits not enabled (e.g., P0-26).
  • Required command signal not present (e.g., enable input).
  • Fault or warning status preventing startup.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check the connection between the inverter and the motor, ensuring all phases are securely connected.

  2. 2

Check startup data and perform a new startup if necessary, verifying the rated motor power and other motor parameters.

  3. 3

Check the cross-section of the motor cable and increase it if necessary to ensure adequate current delivery without excessive voltage drop.
