CFI2

Configuration Transfer Error

Schneider Electric · Altivar Machine ATV320 Variable Speed Drive

What does CFI2 mean?

A fault occurred during the transfer of configuration data to the drive. This could be due to an interruption, an incompatible configuration file, or an issue with the transfer medium (e.g., communication cable). The drive may not operate as intended with incomplete or corrupted settings.

Common Causes

  • Communication interruption (e.g., USB, Ethernet, RS-485) during data transfer between PC and drive.
  • Incompatible configuration file format or data structure for the target drive's firmware version.
  • Insufficient memory space on the drive to accept the new configuration file due to size or existing data.
  • Drive parameter write protection enabled (e.g., Parameter P0-03 = 1 or 2) preventing data storage.
  • Corrupted configuration file source (e.g., damaged file on PC) or faulty transfer cable (e.g., loose USB connection).

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. Verify the integrity of the configuration file on the source device (e.g., PC, USB stick) by attempting to open it with the configuration software.

  2. 2

    2. Check the communication cable (e.g., USB A-B, Ethernet patch cable) for physical damage or loose connections at both ends.

  3. 3

    3. Disable any parameter write protection (e.g., set Parameter P0-03 = 0) on the drive before attempting transfer.

  4. 4

    4. Ensure the configuration software version is compatible with the drive's firmware version (e.g., check release notes or manual).

  5. 5

    5. Attempt the configuration transfer again after a full power cycle of the drive and the programming device.
