Marker Pulse 2?

Indramat · ServoDyn D Servo Drive

What does 32 mean?

This error occurs if the marker pulse from the Axis 2 encoder is detected too close (closer than 1/16 revolution) to the homing switch cam. This can lead to unreliable homing operations or incorrect home position detection for Axis 2.

Common Causes

  • Homing switch cam for Axis 2 is physically positioned too close to the encoder's marker pulse detection point.
  • Incorrect mechanical adjustment of the homing switch or the encoder itself for Axis 2.
  • Faulty Axis 2 encoder producing an unstable or noisy marker pulse.
  • Configuration parameters for homing (Parameter 48 or Parameter 50) are incorrect for Axis 2.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Adjust the physical position of the Axis 2 home limit switch cam by a distance equal to or greater than 1/3 of the Axis 2 Feed Constant.

  2. 2

Verify that Parameter 48 (Homing Setup A2) and Parameter 50 (Homing Setup I/O A2) for Axis 2 are correctly configured as per the manual (refer to Chapter 4).

  3. 3

Inspect the Axis 2 encoder for any physical damage or loose connections that could affect marker pulse generation.

  4. 4

Check the Axis 2 homing switch for proper mechanical actuation and reliable electrical signaling.

  5. 5

Use an oscilloscope to observe the Axis 2 encoder marker pulse signal and homing switch signal to identify timing or noise issues.
