04

Invalid Mode!

Indramat · ServoDyn D Servo Drive

What does 04 mean?

This error occurs when conflicting mode selection inputs are active simultaneously, specifically when Parameter Mode (+24 Vdc to X3, pin 1) is selected while Automatic Mode (+24 Vdc to X3, pin 2) is also active in the CLM01.3-M.

Common Causes

  • Simultaneous application of +24 Vdc to both Parameter Mode (X3, pin 1) and Automatic Mode (X3, pin 2) inputs.
  • Incorrect wiring of the mode selection switches, leading to conflicting signals.
  • Faulty mode selection switch or input device that is stuck in an 'ON' position for multiple modes.
  • Internal fault in the CLM01.3-M's input monitoring circuitry incorrectly interpreting mode selection.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify the wiring at CLM01.3-M connector X3, pins 1 and 2 to ensure only one mode selection input is active at any given time.

  2. 2

Inspect the physical mode selection switches (e.g., rotary switches or pushbuttons) for proper operation and that they are not jammed.

  3. 3

Check the +24 Vdc supply to the mode selection inputs for stability and absence of crosstalk or leakage current.

  4. 4

Review the parameters related to mode configuration in Chapter 4 to ensure they are set appropriately for the intended operation.

  5. 5

If externally controlled, temporarily disconnect the mode selection inputs to the CLM01.3-M and test the system with manual mode changes to isolate the fault source.
