Prewarning, end of brake check time interval
Indramat · IndraDrive MPx02
What does E3115 mean?
This prewarning is generated by the IndraDrive MPx02 when the time since the last holding brake check approaches the parameterized interval (P-0-0550 or P-0-3302) by 15 minutes or less, or if 5 minutes have passed since drive enablement without a brake check. It serves as a reminder that a brake check is due to ensure the holding brake's functionality and safety.
Common Causes
- The drive has been in operation and drive enable has been set for 5 minutes without a brake check being performed.
- The time since the last holding brake check has nearly reached the maximum allowed interval set in P-0-0550 (Time interval brake check) or P-0-3302 (Safety related holding system: time interval brake check).
- Brake check functionality is activated (e.g., via P-0-0525), but routine checks are not being performed.
- An oversight in the maintenance schedule for regular brake checks.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Perform a brake check using command P-0-0541 (C2100 Brake check command) within 15 minutes of the prewarning appearing.
- 2
Ensure that regular brake checks are incorporated into the machine's maintenance schedule, especially if "time interval of holding brake check" is activated in P-0-0525 (Holding brake control word) or the "safety related braking and holding system" is in use.
- 3
Review the settings for P-0-0550 and P-0-3302 to verify that the brake check time intervals are appropriate for the application and safety requirements.
- 4
If continuous operation is critical, ensure the brake check is scheduled during planned downtime or performed automatically when conditions allow.
