E2100

Positioning velocity of master axis generator too high

Indramat · IndraDrive MPx02

What does E2100 mean?

The IndraDrive MPx02 has detected that the commanded positioning velocity from the master axis generator (e.g., in a gearing or camming application) is exceeding its permissible limit for the slave axis. This can lead to following errors, instability in the slave axis, or a failure to accurately track the master.

Common Causes

  • The velocity command generated by the master axis is too high for the slave axis or the mechanical system to follow.
  • Gearing ratios or cam tables are configured with excessively steep slopes, leading to high velocity demands.
  • The maximum velocity limit of the slave axis in the IndraDrive MPx02 is set too low for the master's motion profile.
  • Incorrect scaling between master and slave axis units.
  • Physical limitations of the slave axis, such as motor speed or mechanical constraints, are being exceeded.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify the configured velocity limits of the slave axis in the IndraDrive MPx02 and ensure they are appropriate for the application and the physical capabilities of the slave motor and mechanics.

  2. 2

Review the motion profile, gearing ratio, or cam table used by the master axis generator, and reduce the maximum velocity or steepness of the profile if necessary.

  3. 3

Check the mechanical system for any binding or restrictions that could limit the slave axis's ability to achieve the commanded velocity.

  4. 4

Ensure that the master axis generator itself is operating within its own specified velocity limits and producing stable, valid commands.

  5. 5

Adjust the master-slave coupling parameters to optimize following performance without exceeding limits.
