Wrong password entered
Danfoss · VLT Micro Drive FC 51
What does Err. mean?
An incorrect password was entered when attempting to access or modify a password-protected parameter or menu on the LCP. This security feature prevents unauthorized configuration changes to the drive, ensuring operational integrity.
Common Causes
- Incorrect numerical password entered via the LCP when attempting to access a locked menu (e.g., 'Menu 0 - Operation').
- Forgetting or mistyping the user-defined password (e.g., set in Parameter 16-00, 'Access code' or other security parameters).
- Attempting to access a higher access level (e.g., 'Advanced', 'Expert') without the correct corresponding password set in Parameter 16-00.
- Password parameter (e.g., Parameter 16-00) reset to default, but an old, incorrect password is still being used.
- Multiple failed attempts causing a temporary lockout feature to activate.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Re-enter the known password carefully, ensuring no digits are mistyped and verifying the numerical value.
- 2
If the password is unknown, refer to the plant's documentation or the drive's default password (often '0', or four-digit default specified in manual).
- 3
Attempt to reset the password by setting Parameter 16-00 (Access code) to '0' (User defined) and then changing the password if access is possible.
- 4
If unable to access, consider performing a factory reset (e.g., Parameter 14-22, 'Operation Mode') which typically resets all passwords to default, then reconfigure.
- 5
If a temporary lockout is suspected, wait for a specified period (e.g., 30 seconds) before re-attempting password entry.
