38.256-258
Internal Fault: Power EEPROM data error
Danfoss · VLT HVAC Drive FC 102
What does 38.256-258 mean?
The Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) on the power card, which stores crucial operational data, is either corrupted or obsolete. This hardware fault on the power card prevents the drive from properly initializing or operating.
Common Causes
- Corruption of critical calibration or operational data stored in the power card's EEPROM.
- The EEPROM chip itself on the power card has failed or reached its write endurance limit.
- Power disturbance or improper shutdown during an EEPROM write operation.
- Incompatibility between power card EEPROM data and the control card firmware version.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
1. Cycle power to the drive (off for 1 minute, then on) to attempt a re-read of the EEPROM data.
- 2
2. Verify the firmware version of the control card is compatible with the power card hardware.
- 3
3. Attempt to re-initialize the drive parameters to factory default (P14-22 set to '2'), then reload a backup.
- 4
4. If the error persists after these steps, replacement of the power card is necessary due to EEPROM corruption or failure.
