F152

Channel Errors

Beckhoff · AX5000 Servo Drive

What does F152 mean?

This error indicates a problem within one of the drive's channels. If it's the only error displayed on a two-channel device, the fault likely lies in the other channel, requiring focused troubleshooting there. Otherwise, it's a general channel error necessitating further investigation based on other active diagnostic messages. This fault can also be a secondary error stemming from an incorrect P-0-0150 setting, often accompanying F4A5, preventing proper operation.

Common Causes

  • Internal communication fault between dual-channel processors within the drive.
  • Fault detected in the secondary channel's power stage or feedback circuit, propagating an error to the primary channel.
  • Mismatch or corruption in configuration data between the two independent channels of the device.
  • External electromagnetic interference (EMI) or noise impacting one of the channel's sensitive control signals.
  • One of the internal diagnostic sub-systems reported an error specific to its channel.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Examine drive internal diagnostic registers (e.g., S-0-0099) to pinpoint the specific channel reporting the sub-fault.

  2. 2

Verify drive power supply stability on all phases (e.g., L1, L2, L3) using a multimeter at the input terminals (e.g., X1-1, X1-2, X1-3).

  3. 3

Check all internal drive optical fiber or bus cables connecting the two channels for damage or improper seating.

  4. 4

Attempt a drive power cycle (turn off, wait 30 seconds, turn on) to reset internal states and clear transient errors.

  5. 5

Isolate the problematic channel by selectively disabling or disconnecting one channel at a time (if supported by drive architecture and safety protocols).
