Power Unit Fault
Allen-Bradley · PowerFlex 700
What does 70 mean?
One or more of the output transistors were operating in the active region instead of desaturation. This can be caused by excessive transistor current or insufficient base drive voltage, indicating a failure within the drive's output power stage.
Common Causes
- Malfunction within the power conversion or regulation stage.
- Overload condition exceeding the power unit's capacity.
- Internal component failure in the power stage.
- Inadequate cooling of the power unit.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Check for damaged output transistors (e.g., using a multimeter for short circuits).
- 2
Replace the drive unit.
