This fault occurs if the drive takes more time to decelerate the motor to a stop than is allowed. The timeout is determined by the longest deceleration ramp time (Decel1 or Decel2) plus the Regen Timeout parameter. This typically indicates an excessive amount of regenerative energy during deceleration.

- Excessively long deceleration ramp time (P0-11 Decel1 Time, P0-12 Decel2 Time) for the application's inertia, causing the drive to hit the regen timeout before stopping.
- High inertia load that continues to generate back-EMF into the drive beyond the allowed deceleration period.
- Insufficient braking capacity (e.g., no braking resistor, undersized resistor, faulty braking chopper) to dissipate regenerative energy.
- Parameter P0-25 (Regen Timeout) set too low for the application's actual stopping time.
- Overvoltage trip occurring during deceleration due to regenerative energy exceeding DC bus limits.

1. Review the application's mechanical system and measure the actual coast-to-stop time of the motor and load from operating speed.

2. Adjust deceleration ramp parameters P0-11 (Decel1 Time) and P0-12 (Decel2 Time) to be longer than the actual stopping time if allowing natural coasting, or shorter if actively braking.

3. Verify the braking resistor (if installed) is correctly sized for the application's regenerative energy and its connections are secure.

4. Increase parameter P0-25 (Regen Timeout) to a value greater than the longest required deceleration ramp time plus a safety margin.

5. Measure the DC bus voltage during deceleration using an oscilloscope to detect if an overvoltage condition (Code 13) is occurring simultaneously.

6. Test the braking chopper circuit by monitoring current flow into the braking resistor during deceleration (if accessible) to ensure it is activating.
