Encoder 2 failure: quadrant error
Indramat · CLM01.3-M Flying Cutoff Control
Was bedeutet F245 ?
The evaluation of the additional optional encoder (encoder 2) is active. A plausibility check between the sinusoidal input signals of the optional encoder and the counter fed by these signals has failed, indicating an error in the encoder feedback.
Häufige Ursachen
- Defective encoder cable for encoder 2.
- Disruptive electromagnetic interference on the encoder cable for encoder 2.
- Defective encoder interface in the Indramat DIAX04 SSE-03VRS drive controller or the encoder itself.

- 1
De-energize the system. Inspect the encoder 2 cable for physical damage, kinks, and proper connection at both the motor encoder and the Indramat DIAX04 SSE-03VRS drive controller.
- 2
Verify the shield continuity and proper grounding of the encoder cable. Ensure the cable is routed separately from power cables to minimize electromagnetic interference.
- 3
Test the individual signal lines (e.g., A, /A, B, /B) of the encoder cable for continuity and short circuits. Check the sine/cosine signals at the drive input for proper waveform and amplitude using an oscilloscope if possible.
- 4
If the cable and external connections are verified as good, the encoder itself might be defective, or the encoder interface within the Indramat DIAX04 SSE-03VRS drive controller may be faulty. Prepare for replacement of the encoder or the drive controller.
