The inverter’s peak current limit (approximately 200% of rated output current) has been exceeded. This is a severe, instantaneous overload condition that will cause the drive to trip and alarm after 1-2 seconds. It can indicate a mechanical jam or an incorrectly sized motor/drive.

• Direct short circuit between two output phases (U, V, W) or a ground fault on one of the output phases to the motor cable or motor windings.
• Sudden, severe mechanical jam or impact on the driven equipment, causing instantaneous motor current demand well beyond limits.
• Extremely rapid acceleration (P2-00 set too low) of a high-inertia load, leading to excessive current transients.
• Faulty IGBT power module within the drive, causing a short-through condition.
• Motor cable too long or improperly shielded, leading to high capacitance and surge currents.

   1. Power off the drive immediately. Disconnect the motor cables from the drive's output terminals (U, V, W).

   2. Perform an insulation resistance test (megohmmeter, 500VDC or 1000VDC) on each motor phase (U, V, W) to ground, and phase-to-phase to check for short circuits.

   3. Perform a winding resistance test (ohmmeter) on the motor (U-V, V-W, W-U) to confirm balanced windings and absence of phase-to-phase shorts.

   4. Inspect the motor cables for physical damage, pinching, or water ingress that could cause a short.

   5. If the fault clears with the motor disconnected, inspect the mechanical load for any sudden, severe jams or binding that would cause extreme torque demand.
