F2825

Switch-on threshold braking resistor too low

Bosch Rexroth · IndraDrive MPx02

What does F2825 mean?

The configured switch-on threshold for the braking resistor is set too low. This threshold defines the DC bus voltage at which the braking chopper activates the resistor. If set too low, the resistor may activate unnecessarily or too frequently, potentially leading to premature wear or overload, even at normal operating conditions.

Common Causes

  • Braking resistor switch-on threshold parameter set too low
  • Inaccurate DC bus voltage measurement
  • Drive operating in an environment with lower than expected mains voltage
  • Incorrect calculation of optimal braking threshold
  • Software bug in threshold comparison logic

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify the configured switch-on threshold parameter for the braking resistor (e.g., P-0-0006, P-0-0062 or similar DC bus overvoltage threshold parameter) within the IndraDrive MPx02's parameter settings.

  2. 2

Consult the Bosch Rexroth IndraDrive MPx02 documentation and the installed braking resistor's specifications to determine the recommended switch-on threshold voltage for the application.

  3. 3

Monitor the actual DC bus voltage during normal operation and during deceleration phases to observe its behavior relative to the configured threshold and the expected voltage range.

  4. 4

Inspect the braking resistor and its associated chopper unit for signs of excessive heat, discolouration, or continuous audible activation, which might indicate frequent or premature engagement due to a low threshold.
