I.Chxx.Uncertain

Channel Data Potentially Inaccurate

Allen-Bradley · Compact 5000 I/O Analog Modules

What does I.Chxx.Uncertain mean?

This input tag, when set to 1, indicates that channel xx data might be inaccurate, but the degree of inaccuracy is unknown. While not a definitive fault, it suggests potential data integrity issues, and the data should generally not be used for control. The tag typically resets to 0 after a small delay once the condition is removed.

Common Causes

  • The data signal is slightly outside the channel's normal operating range.
  • The module or channel is operating slightly over its specified temperature.
  • An invalid Sensor Offset value is configured for channel xx.
  • A calibration fault occurred on channel xx.
  • Calibration is currently in process on channel xx, or an active calibration on another module channel is affecting it.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Measure the input/output signal for channel xx to confirm it is within the expected operating range.

  2. 2

Check the ambient temperature at the module installation location.

  3. 3

Verify the O.Chxx.SensorOffset tag setting for channel xx in the Logix Designer application.

  4. 4

Check the module status in Logix Designer application for any active or recent calibration faults.

  5. 5

Confirm if any calibration processes are active on the module or other channels.
