STO active
ABB · Application Error ABB Motion Drives Error trouble shoo
What does 10033 mean?
One or both of the Safe Torque Off (STO) inputs are not powered. This error can only occur when the drive (MotiFlex e100, MotiFlex e180, MicroFlex e190) is enabled, indicating that the safety function has removed torque from the motor.
Common Causes
- Loss of power or open circuit to one or both STO inputs.
- An open safety circuit component (e.g., emergency stop button, safety gate switch, light curtain) connected to the STO inputs.
- Wiring fault in the safety circuit, such as a broken cable or loose connection, leading to an STO input deactivation.
- An external safety device (e.g., safety relay) has tripped or is not properly reset.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Check the status of the drive's STO inputs, verifying they are receiving the correct voltage (e.g., 24VDC) as required by the safety circuit.
- 2
Inspect the wiring of the entire safety circuit for breaks, loose connections, or damage from the safety devices to the drive's STO terminals.
- 3
Verify that all safety devices (emergency stops, guard switches, safety relays) in the circuit are closed, reset, and in their safe operating state.
- 4
Confirm that the external power supply dedicated to the STO circuit is functional and providing adequate and stable voltage.
