Supply phase loss detected

What does 10029 mean?
The three-phase drive (MotiFlex e100, MotiFlex e180) has detected the loss of one or more AC supply phases. MotiFlex e100 drives use dedicated phase monitoring hardware, while MotiFlex e180 drives monitor DC bus ripple; excessive ripple indicates an input phase loss. The drive can normally only operate with a three-phase supply.
Common Causes
- Loss of one or more incoming AC supply phases to the drive.
- Loose or incorrect wiring connections on the input phases of the drive.
- External fault in the AC supply distribution (e.g., tripped breaker, blown fuse upstream).
- On MotiFlex e180, spurious tripping due to excessive DC bus ripple caused by harsh, repeated acceleration/deceleration cycles.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Check the integrity and continuity of all three AC input phases to the drive using a multimeter.
- 2
Verify all input phase connections at the drive terminals and upstream supply points are secure and properly terminated.
- 3
Measure the incoming AC supply voltage on all three phases to ensure balanced and correct voltage levels are present.
- 4
If using a MotiFlex e180 and spurious tripping occurs under dynamic load, consider disabling phase loss detection by setting parameter PHASELOSSMODE(0) = 0.
