COMM MODULE
ABB · ACS800
What does 7510 mean?
Cyclical communication between the drive (ABB ACS800) and the master control system has been lost. This can be due to issues with the fieldbus adapter, its configuration, or the physical communication link, preventing proper control and monitoring of the drive. The fault is indicated by 3.08 AW 1 bit 12 (or 3.06 FW 2 bit 12) and is controlled by programmable Fault Function 30.18 and 30.19.
Common Causes
- Loss of cyclical communication between the drive and the master fieldbus device.
- Incorrect parameter settings in group 51 COMM MODULE DATA (for fieldbus adapter) or group 52 STANDARD MODBUS (for Standard Modbus Link).
- Incorrect Fault Function parameters, specifically 30.18 (COMM FLT FUNC) and 30.19 (MAIN REF DS T-OUT).
- Loose, damaged, or improperly terminated cable connections for the fieldbus.
- The master device is unable to establish or maintain communication with the drive.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Check the status of the fieldbus communication, referring to the 'Fieldbus control' chapter in the manual or the appropriate fieldbus adapter manual for diagnostics.
- 2
Verify parameter settings in group 51 COMM MODULE DATA (for fieldbus adapter) or group 52 STANDARD MODBUS (for Standard Modbus Link) are correct for the application's communication setup.
- 3
Inspect and verify the settings of Fault Function parameters 30.18 (COMM FLT FUNC) and 30.19 (MAIN REF DS T-OUT) are appropriate for the desired communication timeout behavior.
- 4
Check all fieldbus cable connections (e.g., Ethernet, RS-485) for proper termination, integrity, and absence of damage or interference.
- 5
Verify that the master control system is operational and actively attempting to communicate with the ABB ACS800 drive.
