I/O module configuration
ABB · ACS580
What does 7087 mean?
The configuration of an I/O module is either not supported or contains illegal settings. This prevents the I/O module from operating as intended, leading to incorrect I/O behavior or non-functionality of connected devices.
Common Causes
- Attempting to configure I/O channels (e.g., P3-xx for analog inputs, P4-xx for digital inputs) in a way that is mutually exclusive or physically impossible.
- I/O module being initialized with default settings that conflict with existing drive application parameters.
- Corruption of configuration data within the I/O module's non-volatile memory.
- An outdated GSD/GSDML file used in a fieldbus master for the I/O module, leading to an incompatible configuration attempt.
- Main drive firmware bug related to I/O module configuration validation.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Review the I/O module's configuration parameters (e.g., P3-xx, P4-xx, P5-xx) in the drive manual to ensure valid settings.
- 2
Perform a parameter reset on the I/O module's specific parameter group (if available) or a full drive parameter reset (P96-01=1).
- 3
Attempt to manually configure the basic I/O settings step-by-step, verifying functionality after each change.
- 4
Update the drive's main firmware and, if applicable, the I/O module's firmware to the latest compatible versions.
- 5
If the module is part of a fieldbus setup, verify the GSD/GSDML file used in the fieldbus master is the correct version for the module.
