Light error
ABB · AC500
What does E3 mean?
A light error indicates a problem that may or may not require the user program to be stopped, depending on the application's design. Examples include issues where Flash memory could not be programmed or an I/O module has failed, but the CPU itself remains operational. The user must decide the appropriate reaction, as ignoring it might lead to impaired functionality of specific I/O or program segments without halting the entire system.
Common Causes
- Non-critical error condition requiring application-specific handling.
- Potential issue with peripheral device communication.
- Minor discrepancy in sensor reading.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Check status of connected I/O modules via their diagnostic LEDs.
- 2
Verify communication handshake signals between the controller and peripheral devices.
- 3
Inspect parameter settings for user program stop conditions (e.g., P0-01).
- 4
Review analog input scaling configuration for relevant channels.
